OFFICIAL RULES
CONTEST RULES & RELEASE TO USE LIKENESS
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. MAKING A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE CHANCES OF WINNING. Void outside of the United States and where prohibited.
- Eligibility. The Achievement Tournament (“Promotion”) is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (excluding it’s territories and possessions) who are at least 13 or older at the time of entry and who shall physically be in New York County, New York on July 26, 2011. Employees of Sponsor and its parent, subsidiaries and affiliated companies and their immediate families are not eligible to participate in this Promotion.
- Sponsor. Sony Electronics Inc., 16530 Via Esprillo, San Diego, CA 92127 (“Sponsor”).
- Prize Provider. Sony Music Entertainment, 550 Madison Ave. 14th floor, New York, NY 10022 will fulfill all prizes.
- Timing. The Promotion starts July 26, 2011 at 12:00pm and ends July 26, 2011 at 3:00pm. Round 1- is open to the first 32 eligible entrants as determined by a government-issued photo ID which must be presented to Sponsor’s representatives at the time of entry (collectively, “Entrants”), who appear in person who to play Street Fighter 4: Arcade Version at the Sony retail store located at 550 Madison Ave., New York, NY. The entrants who move on to the next round are determined by the highest score from each round and will be given an invitation to continue to compete for the Grand Prize until eliminated. -This is a single-elimination tournament.

How to Enter. Visit the Sony retail store in New York (550 Madison Ave. New York, NY 10022) during the corresponding times to register for a time slot. The first 32 eligible entrants as determined above, to sign up will be eligible to participate in the tournament; it is first come first serve basis. After the Entrant has played, a Sponsor representative will note and keep a record of the Entrant’s score for that round. Each entrant will be required to use the same PS 3 controller provided by the Sony Store employee.
Playing the Match
- Once the game is set up and controllers have been handed out, the players should begin the first Round in the Match.
- There are 3 Rounds in each match.
- A Round is finished when 1 of the 2 players is knocked out.
- The player with the highest score from match will move to the next Tournament Round.
- Once a player has won the match, the winner should report the result to the Judge.
- Tournament Rounds 1-Quarter Finals will play the best 2 out of 3.
- The tournament Semi Finals and Finals will play the best 3 out of 5.
This will continue until the final round is reached. In the event of a tie, a rematch will be played until one entrant beats the other entrant with a higher score. The entrant left standing with the top score and will move on to the next round. The final winner of the tournament will be named the Grand Prize Winner and compete in best of 5 matches of Street Fighter 4: Arcade Version against Mickey Factz.
- Entry Conditions. Limit one (1) entry per person. Entries are good only for the day of entry and will not carry over to any other future contests/tournaments. Sponsor is not responsible for technical, hardware or software failures, malfunctions, or unforeseen schedule changes that may limit an Entrant’s ability to participate in the Promotion. Sponsor has the sole and absolute discretion to modify, cancel or suspend this Promotion should virus, bugs unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond Sponsor’s control affect the administration, security or proper play of the Promotion or Sponsor otherwise becomes incapable of running the Promotion as planned. Sponsor is not responsible for changes to Entrant’s contact information. Sponsor has the sole and absolute discretion to disqualify any entry not satisfying these Official Rules. Sponsor has the sole and absolute discretion to disqualify Entrants who violate these Official Rules, tamper with the operation of the Promotion or engage in any conduct that is detrimental or unfair to Sponsor, the Promotion or any other Entrant.
- Winner Selection. The winner or winners from each Round of Street will advance to the next Round. (In the event of a tie within a Round, a rematch will be played until one entrant scores higher than the other Entrant.) Should the winner of a particular Round decline the chance to play or not advance to the subsequent Round, then the entrant with the second-highest score from such a Round will be deemed winner of that Round.
- Winner Requirements. After successfully completing the Tournament, potential Prize Winners need to be present to win. Potential Prize Winners who are not present to participate will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected based upon the next highest score. All winners must report to the Sony retail store (described above) to compete for the Grand Prize and the failure to do so will result in disqualification. If a potential Prize Winner is a minor, such Prize Winner must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian in order to compete Promotion. All Prize Winners will be required to sign an Affidavit (defined below) in order to compete in the Final Round of this Tournament. The last 2 winners will compete in Final round qualifying tournament as described in Section 4 above and the Final Round winner will be deemed the Grand Prize Winner.
- Prizes. Sponsor will award a prize pack consisting of a $25 Sony store gift card, and a Nooka prize pack: 1 Nooka watch, 1 Nooka belt, 1 accessory organizer, to each of the first and second and third place winners (3 prizes total). Sponsor will award (1) Grand Prize for the Final Winner which includes the a) opportunity to play Street Fighter 4: Arcade Version against Mickey Factz, and b) 46’ Sony TV. Total ARV is $1,270. Prize fulfillment is based on availability. Sponsor has the sole and absolute discretion to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a prize is unavailable. If a prize is returned to Sponsor as undeliverable, Sponsor has the sole and absolute discretion to disqualify a winner and select an alternate winner. If a winning Entrant is a minor, then Sponsor will award the prize to that Entrant’s parent or legal guardian. Prizes are non-transferable. All expenses and incidental costs not expressly stated in the prize descriptions above, include, but not limited to, ground transportation, meals, personal charges or other expenses are the responsibility solely of the winners. No cash back or credit will be given for any reason. Winners are responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use. Prizes will be provided at the end of the Final Round in-store on July 26, 2011.
- Odds of Winning. Odds of winning are determined by the number of eligible entrants playing the tournament.
- Affidavit and Release. By accepting a prize and completing an affidavit of eligibility/publicity release, a winning Entrant agrees to the use of his or her name and likeness for purposes of advertising, trade or promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law, and agrees, if required, to sign and return a notarized Affidavit of Eligibility and Release of Liability (the “Affidavit”) within a period that Sponsor specifies.
- Limitations of Liability. By attempting to enter, entering or accepting a Promotion prize, an Entrant agrees to release Sponsor Prize Provider and their parent, subsidiaries, agencies, divisions and affiliates from liability, claims or actions or any kind for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property that may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while preparing for, participating in or traveling to or from the Promotion or any Promotion or prize-related activity. Neither Sponsor nor its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, agencies, divisions or related companies are responsible for any damages, taxes or expenses that winners might incur or inflict as a result of this Promotion or receipt of prize.
- Collection of Information. If you opt to receive information from Sponsor, contact information collected in connection with the Promotion will be collected in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy, available at http://products.sel.sony.com/SEL/legal/privacy.html.
- Publicity. Acceptance of prizes offered constitutes permission to use winner’s name, biographical information and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation as permitted by law by Sony Electronics Inc., Sony Music Entertainment, and/or each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising/promotion agencies.
- Promotion Results. To request a Winner’s List, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Jive Records 550 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10022 attn: Jared Gillman. Requests for the winner list must be received by August 6, 2011.
- Restrictions. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Promotion will only occur at Sony Store in New York, NY.
